The Reverend Alexis Brown is an Elder in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. She currently serves as Senior Pastor at McKendree-Simms-Brookland United Methodist Church, located in Washington, DC.
Pastor Brown has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University (2006) and a Master of Divinity degree (2015) from Wesley Theological Seminary.
Pastor Brown has been honored to serve in many local and conference-wide capacities. She served as the Dean of the 2016-18 Youth School of Mission u (United Methodist Women). She served as a Board member for the African American Heritage Center (2016-2019). Alexis is also a trained Certified Coach under The Board of Global Ministries. Presently, she severs as a mentor for The Global Board of Higher Education and Ministry’s (GBHEM) Journey Toward Ordained Ministry recipients and Exploring Candidates for Ministry for The Greater Washington District.
Pastor Brown loves the church, and loves to sing, but finds excitement in her family. Alexis loves her family and believes they are her first ministry. Alexis is the proud daughter of the Rev. Kay F. Albury and the late Anderson Smith Jr. Alexis is married to the love of her life, Christopher Brown and they are the proud parents to Sydney, Jordyn, Kamryn, and Symone. Her favorite scripture is taken from 2 Corinthians 12:9, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’”
